Week 24

How far along: 24 weeks

Fruit-size comparison: Cantaloupe
Maternity clothes: I love my maternity clothes.  I still need to invest in some warm weather clothing, but I'm still able to wear pre-pregnancy shirts so that helps.

Weight gain:  13 lbs. total

Stretch Marks: Not yet.

Sleep: It continues to be better since I've started seeing the chiropractor.

Best moment of the week:  Getting another good report from the doctor.  She said everything is looking great and she has no concerns.  We talked about how my baby was a bit on the large side at the ultrasound and she said it could be just because Nate's family has large babies or it could have been a growth spurt.  It sounded like the worst case is if I have gestational diabetes.  She didn't seem too concerned because I was measuring normally at my appointment.

Movement:  This baby moves a lot!  Each day I think I'm feeling more and more movement from him.

Cravings: Nothing new or different

Gender: Boy!

Anything making you queasy/sick: Nope.

What I miss:  Not much.

What I’m looking forward to: Being done with work.  I only have two weeks to go and I can't wait to have more time to get the nursery ready and then get out of town for a few days.   I also have out of town guests staying at my house this weekend and that should be fun.

Symptoms: My belly button is starting to flatten out and I'm developing the linea negra, which is that line you can get down your belly when you're pregnant.  I also have been having more issues with heartburn and I think I've been having Braxton-Hicks contractions.
Emotions:  I'm still feeling a bit overwhelmed.  I have another work event on Saturday, while my guests are here.  And my grandma is in the hospital and not doing well. And on top of that, yesterday was the due date for the baby I miscarried in October.  Although almost all of my attention has been focused on this baby, it's still weird to think that I could have given birth already or had a baby in the next week or so. This baby has brought so much healing to my life and I'll be forever grateful, but I'll never forget my June baby...
