Weeks 16 & 17

Date: 4/25/15
How far along: 17 weeks

Fruit-size comparison: Onion
Maternity clothes: I've been maternity pants exclusively for the past week.  They're so much more comfortable than regular pants.  I don't have a lot of maternity shirts, but I don't feel like the belly is growing that quickly so it doesn't matter yet.
Weight gain:  I got weighed at my appointment last Thursday and it was 5 lbs.  Maybe I've gained a little more now since I spent this past week eating good food in Seattle.:)
Stretch Marks: Not yet.
Sleep: I'm sleeping well.
Best moment of the week:  Week 16 was a little rough because I was sick all week and couldn't take much.  But this past week has more than made up for it.  Spending time in Seattle was so much fun.  I loved Pike Place Market, seeing the highest point in the city, and eating some amazing food.  I also had a doctor appointment last Thursday and Nate was able to hear the heartbeat for the first time.  The nurse said that everything looks perfect and I'm gaining a good amount of weight so far.  It's always such a relief to hear those things.  I also got to schedule my ultrasound!
Movement: I think so, but I'm not entirely sure.  I started noticing little flutters last week, mostly when I'm laying down.  Hopefully I'll start feeling them more consistently so that I can feel more confident that it's actually the baby.
Cravings: Nothing new.  I am finding that I'm having less food aversions so I'm happy about that.
Gender: I will know on May 21.
Anything making you queasy/sick: Nope.
What I miss:  I feel like I'm at a really good point in my pregnancy so I don't miss much of anything.
What I’m looking forward to: My ultrasound.  I'm also looking forward to my next appointment on May 11.
Symptoms:     I  almost passed out while I was getting ready for my conference in Seattle one morning.    Immediately after that I developed my 5th migraine during pregnancy.  I'm lucky because my migraines usually only involve blurry vision and go away within a half hour or so, but they are still annoying.  I rested for awhile and ended up feeling fine, but it was weird.  And then there was one more weird occurrence.  On my last night in Seattle, I was eating dinner at a great Mediterranean restaurant and my crown fell off my tooth.  I'm not sure if that's related to pregnancy, but I know that weird things can happen with your teeth during pregnancy.
Emotions:  I'm really feeling quite happy.  I had a great time in Seattle and was able to walk all over the place with minor discomfort.  I know that I still have a long way to go in this pregnancy, but so far I'm feeling great.  After going through infertility and a miscarriage, it's such a relief to see that my body knows how to nourish a baby.
