Weeks 16 & 17

Date: 4/25/15
How far along: 17 weeks

Fruit-size comparison: Onion
Maternity clothes: I've been maternity pants exclusively for the past week.  They're so much more comfortable than regular pants.  I don't have a lot of maternity shirts, but I don't feel like the belly is growing that quickly so it doesn't matter yet.
Weight gain:  I got weighed at my appointment last Thursday and it was 5 lbs.  Maybe I've gained a little more now since I spent this past week eating good food in Seattle.:)
Stretch Marks: Not yet.
Sleep: I'm sleeping well.
Best moment of the week:  Week 16 was a little rough because I was sick all week and couldn't take much.  But this past week has more than made up for it.  Spending time in Seattle was so much fun.  I loved Pike Place Market, seeing the highest point in the city, and eating some amazing food.  I also had a doctor appointment last Thursday and Nate was able to hear the heartbeat for the first time.  The nurse said that everything looks perfect and I'm gaining a good amount of weight so far.  It's always such a relief to hear those things.  I also got to schedule my ultrasound!
Movement: I think so, but I'm not entirely sure.  I started noticing little flutters last week, mostly when I'm laying down.  Hopefully I'll start feeling them more consistently so that I can feel more confident that it's actually the baby.
Cravings: Nothing new.  I am finding that I'm having less food aversions so I'm happy about that.
Gender: I will know on May 21.
Anything making you queasy/sick: Nope.
What I miss:  I feel like I'm at a really good point in my pregnancy so I don't miss much of anything.
What I’m looking forward to: My ultrasound.  I'm also looking forward to my next appointment on May 11.
Symptoms:     I  almost passed out while I was getting ready for my conference in Seattle one morning.    Immediately after that I developed my 5th migraine during pregnancy.  I'm lucky because my migraines usually only involve blurry vision and go away within a half hour or so, but they are still annoying.  I rested for awhile and ended up feeling fine, but it was weird.  And then there was one more weird occurrence.  On my last night in Seattle, I was eating dinner at a great Mediterranean restaurant and my crown fell off my tooth.  I'm not sure if that's related to pregnancy, but I know that weird things can happen with your teeth during pregnancy.
Emotions:  I'm really feeling quite happy.  I had a great time in Seattle and was able to walk all over the place with minor discomfort.  I know that I still have a long way to go in this pregnancy, but so far I'm feeling great.  After going through infertility and a miscarriage, it's such a relief to see that my body knows how to nourish a baby.

Week 15

Date: 4/13/15
How far along: 15 weeks, 3 days

Fruit-size comparison: Apple
Maternity clothes: I've worn a couple things now and they are so comfortable. I definitely need to get more for my trip to Seattle on Saturday.
Weight gain:  I'm guessing about 5 lbs.
Stretch Marks: Not yet.
Sleep: I'm sleeping well.
Best moment of the week:  Before I got sick, I had a fun weekend.  On Saturday night, I hosted a bachelorette party at my house for my friend, Kim.  It was fun celebrating with the girls.
Movement: Not yet, but I'm hoping to feel some in the next few weeks.
Cravings: Nothing new.  I am finding that I'm having less food aversions so I'm happy about that.
Gender: I can't wait to find out.
Anything making you queasy/sick: Nope.
What I miss:  I miss my pre-pregnancy immune system.:)  I  developed a cough/sore throat/cold thing  over the weekend.  It's not too bad, but I'm hoping it goes away soon. I have to say that I'm really grateful for my Mondays off right now.:)
What I’m looking forward to: I still can't wait until my doctor appointment on Thursday. And, also, feeling the baby move.
Symptoms:  I continue to have lots of headaches and some migraines.  I'm hoping the headaches are worse this week because of being sick.
Emotions:  Other than being sick, I'm feeling pretty good.

Week 14

Date: 4/4/15
How far along: 14 weeks, 1 day

Fruit-size comparison: Lemon
Maternity clothes: I've worn a couple things now and they are so comfortable.  I don't really need them yet, but I figure I won't get much use out of maternity clothes so I might as well use them as long as possible.
Weight gain:  I don't know.  The belly is definitely growing, but I don't know how that translates into weight gain.
Stretch Marks: Not yet.
Sleep: I'm sleeping well and am finally getting my energy back!
Best moment of the week: Announcing my pregnancy on Facebook and meeting my new nephew for the first time.  People were so sweet and supportive on Facebook.  And, of course, my nephew is adorable.
Movement: Not for awhile, unfortunately.
Cravings: Nothing new.  I am finding that I'm having less food aversions so I'm happy about that.
Gender: I can't wait to find out.
Anything making you queasy/sick: Not anymore.  I'm feeling great.
What I miss:  Not a whole lot.  I'd give up almost anything for a healthy baby.
What I’m looking forward to: I stilll can't wait until my next doctor appointment. And, also, feeling the baby move.
Symptoms:  There haven't been any new symptoms, other than a growing belly.
Emotions:  This has been a rough week, actually.  I 'm still thrilled about the pregnancy, but I've had a really hard time with work lately.  I've never bounced back from starting a job I didn't want and then having a miscarriage less than two weeks after starting that job. And to top it off, I don't have the most supportive co-workers.  Although they knew that I went through fertility treatment and had a miscarriage, they don't seem to care that I'm pregnant.  I know you're not supposed to talk negatively about work on a public blog, but none of my co-workers know about this blog, nor do they know how to find it.  I just needed to vent because I've been holding this all in for too long, trying to be politically correct, and I can't do it anymore.:(
