A Heartbeat

After two rounds of IVF and a miscarriage, I can't express how good it felt to see my  baby's heart beating on an ultrasound and to hear that the baby looks great.  We are finally willing to get excited about this baby.  And yes, there's only one baby.

Now that we know there's only one baby, I can tell you that my due date is officially October 2.  I have one more ultrasound scheduled with the fertility center for February 23 and then I will be transferred to an OB.  It's hard to believe that after so much time and money spent with a specialist that I will be a normal pregnant woman with a regular doctor.

I've been feeling good so far.  I've been so tired that I go to bed about an hour early each night, I'm hungry all the time, and I'm often lightheaded.  I haven't been nauseated so far, but I know that could still come.  My doctor told me that I can start eating more calories. Pregnancy will probably be the only time in my adult life when I'm told to eat more so I intend to take full advantage of it.:)

I have attached a picture of the blob that is my baby.  Hopefully he or she will look a little more like a baby at my next ultrasound.
